STATUS

Web version available

The published web version opens to onboarding. Browser and native features can differ; AI and cloud workflows were not fully exercised in this review.

Project Overview

LifeCountDown is a React Native and Expo application for displaying life and time countdowns. A published browser version is available.

Problem / Context

The app presents time visually, with an onboarding flow and countdown-oriented interface.

Key Features

  • Onboarding and a live countdown interface.
  • React Native mobile and browser experiences.
  • Local settings and Firebase-backed content.
  • English and Chinese interfaces.
  • AI-assisted content integrations in the source implementation.

Tech Stack

  3. TypeScript
  4. Firebase

Architecture

Shared React Native code uses Expo and React Native Web for the browser experience. Firebase provides content integration; local state uses AsyncStorage. The source also includes native notification and Android widget integrations.

Technical Challenges

A shared interface still has platform-specific capabilities. Native widgets and notifications should not be assumed to work identically in the browser.

Engineering Decisions / Trade-offs

Expo supports a browser entry point without replacing the mobile app. A public showcase should prioritize the countdown and sample content; hosted AI use needs separate credential and usage controls.

Results

The existing Vercel site returned HTTP 200 and rendered onboarding during verification. AI requests, cloud writes, and native-only features were not exercised.
